What Does It Mean to Be a Citizen?

Ask yourself, when you vote in the next election, what is it you really want? Do you want incremental change for the better, or would you really prefer for our bloated, over-regulated, and corrupt government to be stripped down and rebuilt, restaffed, and rededicated to put public service first and to reaffirm a dedication to constitutional rule? We have been incrementally sliding into totalitarianism for generations. Are you really prepared to wait (and make your children wait) through generations to incrementally get back to what our constitution guaranteed us in the first place?

If not, then you need to be sufficiently open-minded to consider some bold initiatives – the kind your next-door neighbor smirks at and says, “it’ll never happen.” He could be right, but Paul Revere’s neighbors probably smirked at him too…

We need a revolution in our thinking, Just Imagine a world where almost everyone could afford to own a home, send a child (or, two) to college, carry high-quality healthcare coverage, fully fund a lucrative retirement fund, and have enough income left over to enjoy eating out, pursue hobbies, etc. Imagine a world where you could do all of this in a one-income family… Would this be a world worth fighting for? Without violating the spirit of the United States Constitution, we could have all of this now.

StressFreeBill’s Newsletter is published twice a week. We are currently publishing a series of ‘Big Ideas’ that can dramatically improve our lives. We previously published how we could replace our income tax code, how we could easily shrink the size of our government, and reclassify American corporations. Today we will discuss the advantages of redefining what it means to be a U.S. Citizen.

Also in previous issues, we published a series describing the various factions of the new Ruling Class that is attempting to solidify total control of our country. You can revisit those issues HERE.

Citizenship Should Mean Something

What are the rewards of being a United States Citizen? Seriously, can you quickly name five great advantages of having citizenship? Three? Ok, we can serve on a jury… but, this is a duty and I think most Americans wouldn’t exactly consider it a reward. We can vote, but already in New York, this privilege is being granted to non-citizens who are not even here legally. So, what is such a big deal about being a citizen?

Just like borders are essential to our sovereignty and freedoms, so is the concept of citizenship.

A fundamental concept is that the harder you have to work to attain and/or maintain something, the more valuable it is. The more privileged you feel as a citizen, the more likely you are to fulfill the duties and obligations that go with it. The more valuable your citizenship is, the more likely you are to want to protect it (and the country it vests you in). You often see these phenomena in first-generation legal immigrants. They have worked hard to earn their citizenship and are historically amongst the most patriotic. They typically have the highest voting and participation rates of any demographic.

This is why the Globalists who wish to destroy our sovereignty have done everything they can to make citizenship meaningless. Today, we have tens of millions of illegal aliens flooding our country and diluting the value of citizenship. At the same time, our globalist-backed politicians (of both parties) are voting to confer more and more benefits on illegal aliens – from driving privileges to government financial support (some of which U.S. Citizens are not even eligible for).

In addition, these same globalists are overwhelming our Guest Worker Visa programs with massive numbers and the reverse incentive of allowing companies to replace U.S. Citizen employees with cheaper labor. They are also catastrophically diluting the value of citizenship by encouraging the massive abuse of our birthright citizenship laws – mostly unique to the United States, a baby just has to be born here to be a citizen (whether the parents are citizens, illegal aliens, or international criminal felons).

If we want American citizens to (in large numbers) be patriotic, informed, participating, and protective of this very special land we live in, we must make citizenship valuable again. Here is what that might look like:

  • Children of citizens should receive automatic citizenship, but just being born here should not bestow it.

  • We need a healthy Permanent Resident program, but earning citizenship should be rare and carry strong requirements.

  • Guest Worker Visas should never offer a pathway to citizenship and should be tariffed to remove the financial incentive for replacing an American worker.

  • The privileges of citizenship should never be given to non-citizens (including voting, driving, and government-sponsored financial aid).

For the policy wonks among us, I have included some legislative language below.

A Permanent Resident has full rights to live and conduct business within the US and also has the same obligations as a Citizen (Pay taxes, eligibility for Selective Service, etc.) A Permanent Resident is an individual who:

Guest Worker

1)      Guest Worker status and conditions are determined by the US Congress and may not, in and of itself, lead to a path to Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

2)      Guest Worker visas are issued for a limited duration.

Guest workers must be sponsored by a Domestic American Company, Multinational American Company, or a Foreign Company and such a company must pay a 25% premium to the Federal government on each Guest Worker’s salary.
